Tata Sierra which ruled the hearts of Indians in 90s is all set to make a grand comeback at the Indian roads. Tata will be smartly utilising the name of the legendary Sierra nameplate and will be introducing the Sierra in an all-electric avatar, apart from the ICE powertrains.
Tata Motors have confirmed that Sierra EV is all set to launch in January 2026 in India, after the launch of ICE versions on November 25. Tata Sierra is underpinned primarily by Gen-2 Acti.EV platform which ensures better performance, impressive range figures, and better safety.
Expected Range: However the company has not revealed the exact range figures but expect it to return a decent range of 400-500 Km on a single charge. There will also be an option of AWD specifically with the EV variant, which is currently in the testing phase.
Design: Tata Sierra will be featuring a design full of retro vibes with rough modern edges, black cladding, rugged stance and addition of a panoramic glass roof which will be a perfect combination of pure nostalgia and futuristic features.
This will be India’s first EV which will strike a perfect balance between “emotion and engineering” as Tata have already clarified that they are not chasing competition but building a legacy, and looking at Sierra, they have perfectly justified these lines.

Tesla is a brand which can be synonymous with the word "Performance" as the Tesla Model 3, which is one of the most popular electric sedans, is finally set to be launched on the roads of India sometime in 2026. Globally, the performance variant of the Model 3 can achieve 0-100 km/h in just 3.1 seconds with a claimed WLTP range of 513 Km on a single charge.
Interiors: The interiors of the Model 3 are simple with a minimalistic design integrated with a full-screen interface and advanced autonomous features like ADAS on offer.

Leapmotor from China could launch India's most affordable electric car branded as Leapmotor T03. There is a joint collaboration between Stelantis Group and Leapmotor and are having plans to launch in India in 2026.
The T03 is a compact EV and could provide a significant range of 250-300 Km on a single charge with a fast charging support, and a smart digital cabin setup. The expected price of launch could be less than Rs 10 lakh, but it is only possible if there is a heavy localisation of EV components for the car.
However, the company has not confirmed about the launch of the car and there are only rumors surrounding the T03, but imagine if this becomes a reality, then it will disrupt the sub 10-lakh EV segment with a stylish yet a tech-loaded EV with tons of affordability.

Mahindra has leveled up their game in the field of EVs with their recently launched BE 6 and XEV 9e, as both cars are getting a progressive demand from the Indian consumers. However, Mahindra is planning to launch an electric version of India's most premium made-in-India EV SUV, branded as XEV 7e.
The XEV 7e could provide an expected range of 450+ Km on a single charge and is underpinned on the brand’s INGLO platform, which is a dedicated platform for Mahindra’s next-generation EVs.
