Main Insights
- The MG Windsor has emerged as a best seller in FY25 and since its launch, MG has sold over 19,394 units of Windsor in a time span of just eight months. This signifies that Windsor has become a top choice in EV segment and every user thinks of buying Windsor as it has hit the right chords with its users. MG recently upgraded the Windsor with a pro variant which packs a bigger battery pack and enhanced range, which further makes it a more attractive option.
- The Comet EV and ZS EV have also shown considerable growth in sales charts grabbing the fifth and seventh best selling positions, respectively. However, ZS EV being a quite old car in competition couldn't cross the 10,000 sales figure.
- In the latest rankings, the Punch EV, Nexon EV, and Tiago EV are in the second, third, and fourth positions, while the Curvv EV and Tigor EV are ranked sixth and tenth, having sold 7,000 and 4,000 units respectively.
- Mahindra with its latest addition XEV 9e is their best selling EV and has garnered the eighth position, with XUV 400 EV securing ninth position. However, the interesting part is that BE 6 sales were even lower than XUV 400 by registering only 2,600 units for FY25.
- The Hyundai Creta Electric, which launched in the Indian market this January, has achieved a respectable sales figure of 3,600 units, earning it the eleventh spot on the list.
- If we look at the premium EV segment, the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5 have marked their presence by registering sales of around 800 units and 350 units. The EV9, being the most expensive electric vehicle in the lineup, sold merely 18 units in FY25, which illustrates the trend of higher costs leading to reduced sales.
