Eicher and LeafyBus will launch 100 electric sleeper buses for intercity routes across India.

LeafyBus has entered into a strategic partnership with Eicher Trucks & Buses (VECV) in order to launch 100 Skyline Pro E 13.5m electric intercity sleeper buses on major highways. This deployment will start with a first lot of 35 buses to be rolled out on March 31, 2026.

LeafyBus is currently operating daily long distance electric services specifically on Delhi-Dehradun route and is slowly expanding its operations. 

This deployment will be further managed through an electric bus leasing program organized by Enetra EV Private Limited, with a proposed funding of USD 4.1 million invested in EV expansion, charging infrastructure, and development of new routes. 

Skyline Pro E 13.5m Technical Details

POWER: The Skyline Pro E 13.5m electric bus is equipped with a 36+D upper and lower berth layout setup and comes powered with a 400 kWh LFP battery pack integrated with an electric motor producing 235 kW of maximum power. It also features air suspension, advanced braking, and energy efficient systems for seamless intercity operations. 

This nation expansion strategy will also add one new EV travel corridor every month, as LeafyBus and Eicher will be jointly developing on route planning, charging infrastructure, uptime solutions, and operational support.
