Munich Motor Show: The Hyundai Concept Three offers a glimpse of an upcoming electric hatchback.

Hyundai has revealed its new electric concept at the 2025 Munich Motor Show in Germany, called the Concept Three model, which has been presented in a form of compact electric hatchback which is all set to be introduced in 2026.
However, there is a possibility that this Concept Three can be further defined as Ioniq 3, but as per various reports it could be also branded with Ioniq 2 and Ioniq 4 as an alternative. The global lineup for Hyundai’s Ioniq series includes the Ioniq 5, 5 N Line, 5 N, and Ioniq 9 SUVs, as well as the Ioniq 6 sedan.
Hyundai Concept Three Exterior Design
The new Hyundai Concept three gives an overlook of how the company’s new electric hatchback could look like in its production form. Hyundai has followed their ‘Art of Steel’ design language which includes smooth and sophisticated design with curved panels. It also houses Hyundai’s signature pixel elements integrated on the headlights and taillights, followed by the front bumper.
The visor-inspired windscreen and wraparound glass adds to the modern yet stylish look to the overall design. The company has also integrated oversized wheels, coach doors, and lemon-tinted windows which helps to enhance the sporty dynamics of the car, thus making it look attractive to view from each angle.
However, Hyundai has clarified that the overall dimensions, shape and surfacing of the concept will be carried over to the final production model. For reference, the concept measures 4,287 mm in length which falls just 1mm shorter than Volkswagen Golf.
Hyundai Concept Three Interior
Talking about the interiors, Hyundai has clarified that EV’s interiors will be crafted in a way that they don’t distract the attention of the driver from the road which includes the addition of physical buttons to control the majority of functions like the A/C controls.
The Boss of Hyundai Design Center, Simon Loasby expressed his views on this and said that, “We are never in favor of all functions embedded into one touchscreen unit and that’s why we have gone old school and integrated buttons.”
The dashboard is tailored with a simplistic design which includes no central touchscreen, instead it houses two tiny displays which are high-up and situated behind the octagonal steering wheel. There is also an inclusion of ambient lights on the dashboard and door panels, and there is an addition of a long center console which divides the front seats.
Since it’s been underpinned on an exclusive EV platform, it features a flat floor with no transmission hump in the back, as ICE vehicles.
Hyundai Concept Three Battery & Range Expectations
The company has not revealed the exact technical specifications, but it is expected that the Concept Three will be underpinned on the 400V E-GMP electric concept and will be powered by 58.3 kWh and much bigger 81.4 kWh battery pack which is shared with Kia EV3.
Now it will be interesting to see what range figures Hyundai could extract from these powertrains, just for reference, the Kia EV3 returns a WLTP-certified range of 600 Km on a single charge.
