If you are categorising electric vehicles into eco-friendly commuting, just change your opinion about electric cars and their blazing performance. Our AllAboutEVs team did an MG Cyberster Ownership Review 2026 to find out its performance capabilities and whether this sportscar is worth your purchase or not.

Mr. Manik Jain, the proud owner of one of India's first MG Cyberster (Beautiful Yellow), provided us with all the details about its performance, real-world range, features, and everyday practicality on Indian roads.

MG Cyberster Performance

POWER: The owner gave us a reality check of numbers first. Delivering a peak power of 503 horsepower and a torque of 725 Nm, the MG Cyberster can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds, showcasing its impressive performance.

The owner, Manik who upgraded to this sportscar from heavy-duty SUVs like the Defender and Fortuner, describes the sheer acceleration of the Cyberster as a pure “roller-coaster” type feel.

Before purchasing the Cyberster for Rs 87 lakh (On-Road Gurgaon), he also test-drove the Porsche Taycan. Despite the Taycan positioned at an upper segment, costing around Rs 2 Crores, he found MG’s handling and performance to be much better. The owner has managed to reach a top speed of 200 km/hr with the Cyberster on the expressways, providing an exhilarating acceleration and a sporty sensation.

MG Cyberster Head Turning Design & Interiors

Apart from being fast, Cyberster has also become a style statement. What makes it attractive is its sportscar-inspired automated scissor doors and collapsible roof. Popping the doors open gives you a supercar look at a competitive price.

On the inside, the interiors are crafted with a massive curved three-screen display and additional 7-inch touch control panel on the center console. While many internet reviewers often criticise the lack of physical buttons, Manik finds the touch interface to be super smooth and highly intuitive to use.

For audio lovers, the Cyberster comes with the Bose speaker system, which delivers a premium sound listening experience. However, safety features like ADAS are way too sensitive as the lane-keep assist was so strict about preventing lane changes that Manik majorly drives it by turning it off.

MG Cyberster Real Range, Battery Health & Charging

Range Anxiety is a biggest challenge while buying EVs, but the Cyberster comes powered with a massive 77 kWh battery pack, with a claimed range of 580 Km. However, in the real world, the Cyberster can easily provide 500 km of real-world range in mixed driving conditions.

For efficient charging and battery health, Manik prefers charging via standard 7.7 kW AC Home charger, which takes around 9 hours to 10 hours overnight. By charging it in a range of 70-80% for his daily commutes, he has significantly reduced its running costs and monthly fuel bills, which used to cross Rs 1 lakh.

MG Cyberster Service Experience & Issues

According to Manik, the MG’s sales and service experience is quite praiseworthy and features seamless delivery experience with accommodating staff, but it also has some flaws.

ISSUES: One of the biggest downsides of the Cyberster is its suspension. As Indian highways have uneven patches of road expansion joints, the low-slung stiff electric sportscar tends to bounce at higher speeds.

The low ground clearance is another downside of the car as you need to pre-plan your routes in order to avoid big speed breakers. The 250 litres of boot space is very less, as Manik wished that MG had managed to attach two small rear seats for added practicality.

The Final Verdict

Is the MG Cyberster worth it? The simple answer is Yes, absolutely. However, it can’t be your primary daily driver especially in India with such improper roads. But if you already have practical cars in your garage and want fun on weekend journeys with blistering supercar-like driving experience, stunning looks, and incredible EV running costs, the beautiful MG Cyberster deserves a spot in your garage.
