VinFast makes a swift entry, surpassing 1,000 EV sales in India.
Vietnamese manufacturer, Vinfast has crossed 1,000 EV milestone in electric car sales in India, which is an impressive feat for a new company achieving this sales figure in just four months. This growth comes as the company is strengthening its position in the Indian EV industry while also developing its charging infrastructure across the country.
The year 2026 has started very well for Vinfast as it has sold more than 200 electric cars just at the start of this month. The company has emerged as the fourth position. The company has jumped to fourth position in India’s electric car market after Tata Motors, JSW MG Motor, and Mahindra Electric. In 2025, Vinfast sold around 830 electric cars in India, even after starting operations in September.

Vinfast started its operations in India in September 2025 with the launch of its VF6 and VF7 mid-size SUV. However, the demand is constant, as new players are trying to dominate the market and creating a strong foothold in the market, as per JMK research.
Vinfast has shown steady growth in this highly competitive market. According to analysts, this is possible due to various factors such as market entry strategy, which includes local manufacturing, rapid sales and service networks, and positioning of the brand at the right place.
