VinFast VF5 Facelift Design Patent Revealed | Specs & Expected Price 

Vinfast has registered for a design patent for the VF5 facelift in India, providing an overview of the new design of the electric SUV. The changes include revised headlights, a new bonnet, redesigned LED tail-lights and fresh bumpers. 

Sightings of test vehicles cruising Indian highways hint that the automaker plans to roll out the refreshed VF5 electric SUV domestically. The VF5 facelift was also spied without camouflage in Vietnam in September 2026. 

Vinfast VF5 Design 

Vinfast has heavily worked on the facelifted VF5, as the spy shots reveal a new bonnet and a completely redesigned front bumper. The previous model had thick black sections under the headlights, which have been toned down and seamlessly integrated with the bumper’s blackened low section, providing a sharper yet modern look to the electric SUV. 

• The headlights are also placed lower and are sleeker. The facelift continues with 16-inch wheel size and gets fresh alloy wheel design to the table. 
• The back gets connected LED tail-lights with a minimalistic design, as the reverse lights and turn indicators are repositioned to the main tail-light cluster. 
• It also features bold “VinFast” branding across the center tailgate and “VF5” branding placed at the right corner. 

VinFast VF5 Interiors 

On the inside, the cabin is now upgraded with advanced tech, as recent spy shots provide a glimpse of an upright dashboard integrated by a large infotainment touchscreen. VinFast has not provided a dedicated driver’s instrument display, as all essential driving data comes into the central infotainment screen, showcasing the view behind the wheel. 

The steering wheel is also re-designed with an all-new two-spoke design. The center console gets sporty styling cues, a sleek rotary drive selector and a pair of cupholers. It also gets a premium leatherette upholstery.

Battery Specs and Range: What’s Under the Hood? 

POWER: Details about the VF5's full specifications remain undisclosed by the company, but international market versions provide compelling insights into what enthusiasts can anticipate. 

The Indonesian version of the VF5 is equipped with a 29.6 kWh battery combined with a front-axle electric motor that generates 90 Hp of maximum output and delivers 135 Nm of peak torque with a claimed NEDC range of 268 Km.

However, in global markets, the VF5 gets a slightly larger 37.23 kWh battery pack. The power is increased up to 136 Hp (Torque is the same at 135 Nm), providing a range of 326 km on a single charge. 

Vinfast VF5 Facelift Expected Price in India

The Vinfast VF5 Facelift is expected to come with a highly affordable price of Rs 12 lakh (Ex-Showroom). At this price point, the VF5 will be directly competing with established rivals like the Punch EV, Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV 3XO EV.
